Reporting a bug? The fastest way is in the app: Settings → Report a Problem. It opens an email with your app version, device and recent error codes already filled in, so we can find the problem without asking you for them. You see everything before you send it.
Getting started
What do I need to use Jyncs?
- An iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Jyncs is iPhone only.
- A Sign in with Apple or Google account.
- Apple Music. Anyone can join streams and hear 30-second previews. Full songs, saving songs to your library, and going live as a DJ need an active Apple Music subscription.
Jyncs itself is free, with no in-app purchases.
How do I join a stream?
Tap any live stream on the Home screen, or open a stream link someone shared with you. Everyone in a stream hears the same song at the same moment, picked by the DJ. Listeners can't skip; the DJ controls the set.
How do I go live as a DJ?
Tap Go Live on the Home screen, build your queue from your Apple Music library, and start. Going live needs an active Apple Music subscription; without one, Jyncs shows you how to get it.
Apple Music
Jyncs says Apple Music isn't connected, or access was turned off
Jyncs needs permission to use Apple Music. If you skipped or declined it:
- In Jyncs, open Settings → Connect Apple Music. (The row only appears while Apple Music is not connected.)
- If iOS no longer shows the permission prompt, tap Open Settings, or go to the iOS Settings app → Apps → Jyncs and turn on Media & Apple Music.
- Return to Jyncs. It picks up the change automatically.
iOS only shows the permission prompt once, which is why the second step goes through the Settings app.
I only hear 30-second previews
Previews mean Jyncs can't play full songs from your Apple Music account. Usually that means there is no active Apple Music subscription on the Apple ID signed in to this iPhone. Check it in the Music app, or tap Get Apple Music on the preview banner in a stream.
If your subscription is active and you still hear previews, open the Music app and play any song to confirm the subscription works on this device, then return to the stream.
If your subscription lapses during a stream, playback pauses with Apple Music Subscription Needed. Renew it and rejoin.
A stream ended saying songs aren't available in my region
Apple Music's catalog varies by country. When a stream's songs can't be played in your region, Jyncs tries to continue with the next song. If too many songs in a row are unavailable, it ends the stream for you instead of leaving you in silence. Try another stream.
Playback and sync
I'm out of sync, or playback stopped
A banner at the top of the stream tells you what happened and offers a fix:
- Out of Sync: tap Resync to jump back to the live position.
- Playback Paused: tap Rejoin. This usually means something else, like another app or a call, paused the music.
- Couldn't sync a song: Jyncs rejoins automatically at the next song, or tap Rejoin Now.
- Connection Issue or No Internet: check your connection. Jyncs reconnects on its own; Reconnect forces it.
If none of these helps, leave the stream and join it again. If it keeps happening, use Settings → Report a Problem right after it happens; the recent error codes it includes tell us where to look.
The stream ended
The DJ ended the stream, or it is no longer available. You'll see the stream summary. Open the DJ's profile to follow them and get notified next time they go live.
Notifications
I'm not getting notified when people go live
Jyncs sends one kind of notification: when someone you follow goes live. Following someone turns it on for them. Check, in order:
- Settings → Go-Live Notifications in Jyncs is on. (This is the switch that mutes all of them.)
- If Jyncs shows Notifications are blocked in iOS Settings, tap it and allow notifications for Jyncs.
- The bell on that DJ's profile reads Notifications on.
- Focus or Do Not Disturb isn't silencing Jyncs.
To avoid repeats, you get at most one notification per DJ every 30 minutes.
How do I turn notifications off?
For one DJ: tap the bell on their profile. For everyone: turn off Settings → Go-Live Notifications in Jyncs.
Safety: blocking and reporting
How do I block someone?
Long-press their chat message and choose Block, or open their profile, tap … and choose Block User. They can't see your streams or message you, and they aren't told.
To unblock: Settings → Blocked Users → Unblock.
How do I report abuse?
Long-press the message and choose Report Message, or open the person's profile, tap … and choose Report User. Pick a reason and add any detail that helps.
Every report reaches a person on our team, and we act on reports within 24 hours. Actions range from no action to removing the account. For your safety we don't share the outcome of a report. You can also email support@jyncs.app.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
- Open your Profile and tap Delete Account.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
- If you signed in with Apple, confirm with Sign in with Apple when asked.
- Tap Delete My Account.
This permanently deletes your profile, followers and following, your streams and stream history, and your profile picture, and signs you out. It can't be undone. Your username stays reserved so nobody can impersonate you. See the Privacy Policy for what we keep and why.
Can't open the app? Email support@jyncs.app from the address on your Apple or Google account and we'll delete it for you.
I was banned and think it's a mistake
Email support@jyncs.app with your username. A person reviews every appeal.
Ideas and feedback
We'd love to hear what you think: Settings → Send Feedback in the app, or email support@jyncs.app. If you enjoy Jyncs, Settings → Rate Jyncs helps other people find it.
